| when I spun a rod bearing. I spend countless hours and days modding my car when this thing happened with the engine with 5K miles on it . I was going to dyno in a few weeks. It was depressing feeling driving home 10 miles with my engine sounding like a rattled can. It has been a 3-4 year project off and on. My only dyno was two years ago which ended prematurely because of bad slipping clutch. This will be a third engine pull. First time to do rebuild, 2nd time to replace down pipe melted aluminum gasket and take out broken studs on back of turbo . No room to drill out broken studs on the back of the turbo and the firewall. And now 3rd time to pull the motor for tear down for spun rod bearing and almost start from scratch. I am going to have SGP do my short block. See what type of damage I have. I hope my block and pistons are okay. Kyle feels my rod bearing clearance spec is a little too tight. It was at .0013 of an inch. At least this time, nothing else custom will have to be done. My fuel system is done, FMIC done, guages done. The custom part takes the longest. I am having my cable disconnected to cut back expenses. The short block is not going to be cheap.
I hope to be up and running by fall to represent and do some good dyno runs with my one-of-a-kind turbo set up. Mike
